You’ve never been deprived of your own traditions because of racism. You’ve never been sexually assaulted because of racism. You’ve never lost your land because of racism. You’ve never learned your own language because of racism.
You don’t get to say “we all bleed the same” when you haven’t experienced those things.
The tattoo you got is offensive and yes, racist. he harassed me to no end, claimed to be Métis & that he got the headdress from a cultural center on his reserve, purposely spammed the tags with these photos with captions w/racial slurs, then deleted his tumblr/facebook/website in a tantrum when a bunch of people from tumblr saw his inappropriate behavior & called him out on his facebook
Oh lawd, now he’s saying “the headdress she is wearing isn’t a native american headdress, its a white woman headdress, please understand it is offensive in our cultures to harass people or insult them because of anthers beliefs or ideologies, please understand this and stop doing it.”
